Dr. Nishawy received his Ph.D. in Pomology from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China for studies of plant molecular biology and biochemistry. He did postdoctoral work for 6 years at Huazhong Agricultural University. He worked as a visiting Scientist at Wuhan Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences for one year.
Dr. Nishawy was selected as a member of the National Committee of Genetic Sciences, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt. He leads several international projects to study the molecular and biochemical mechanisms of plant traits improvement based on genomics and genome editing.
