Speaker for Nanotechnology Conferences 2020
Prof. Alberth Renne Gonzalez Caranton
Universidad ECCI, Colombia

Dr. Alberth Renne Gonzalez Caranton is a Research Full Professor at Universidad ECCI (Bogotá, Colombia) and an accomplished chemical engineer with over a decade of expertise in heterogeneous catalysis, sustainable energy, and reactor design. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ), where he specialized in nanomaterials for catalytic reactors under the mentorship of Professor Martin Schmal. His research focuses on advancing technologies for hydrogen production, methane reforming, and CO? utilization, with a strong emphasis on industrial scalability and environmental sustainability. Dr. Gonzalez Caranton has led pioneering projects in catalytic reactor design, including the development of pilot-scale Tri-Reforming and SELOX reactors for hydrogen purification, and optimized biomass gasification systems that achieved 30% cost savings. His recent work on NiAg alloy catalysts for methane dry reforming, published in Catalysis Today (2025), highlights innovative strategies to enhance oxygen mobility and coke resistance. He has also contributed to biodiesel innovation, notably through experimental analyses of aviation fuel blends and hydrotreatment processes for vegetable oils. A prolific author, his publications in high-impact journals (Applied Surface Science, ChemCatChem, Energy Conversion and Management) and book chapters on CO? valorization reflect his interdisciplinary approach.
